Review
Sembi, a ten-year-old granddaughter of Veerammathalli (Kovai Sarala), lives with her alone in a forested location. She makes a living by gathering and selling honey, bird’s eggs, and umbels she finds in the surrounding woodland. A politician’s son and two of his buddies mercilessly gang-rape Sembi, her adored granddaughter.
Veerammathalli contacted the police as a result. But the grandma slaps him badly and flees because she cannot stand the selling of the Essie who took on the probe. The police and those politicians will thus pursue Veeramma’s mother. And how did Veeramma’s mother intervene to save the life of her granddaughter? Who helped her out? How do people feel about politics in relation to this incident?
Similar to Maina and Kunki, Sembi was introduced by filmmaker Prabhu Salmon in a unique style. Grandma continued to express her love for her grandkids with the same enthusiasm all the way to the end. How will they politicise it if a ten-year-old child is gang-raped, especially by a child from the Girigi tribe?
What rumours will they spread about the incident to advance their agendas? How will the common people’s thought patterns change? How will justice be served if the populace stands together? On an emotive and interesting screen, the phrase “can win” has been exposed. Not just the solicitors, but also the general public if they are aware of the regulations and how to protect themselves
